ADVOCACY
NEOSA leverages COSE's advocacy efforts to represent its members with government representatives. NEOSA has placed two board members on the COSE Advocacy committee; these members attend frequent committee meetings and act as the voice of technology for COSE's efforts.
Once recent result of this activity was a letter from COSE and the Greater Cleveland Partnership to Ohio Senators Brown and Voinovich in support of elements of the immigration bill considered throught the Summer of 2007. Our position was that the H1-B visa threshold should be raised from 65,000 per year to 225,000 per year and that Congress should not add substantial, onerous fees to the process, thereby limiting the ability of small technology companies to compete for foreign skilled workers.
